NEA Teacher of the Year & Council 94 Support Professional of the Year Nominations

It is that time of year again when we ask our PSD Community to nominate a teacher and support professional for the 2022-2023 school year. Please consider nominating someone!

The 2022-2023 Teacher of the Year nominee should be someone who:

- is exceptionally dedicated, knowledgeable, and skillful
- inspires students of all backgrounds and abilities
- demonstrates the belief that all students can learn
- has the respect and admiration of students, parents, administrators, and colleagues
- plays an active role in the school community

The Portsmouth Teacher of the Year will have responsibilities that will/could include:
-Celebrating RI educators
-Growing educator leaders
-Statewide PD days: GTA (Great Teachers in Action) will present live lessons with Highlander Fuse Fellows
-Contribute to RIDE resources
-Attending DTOY cohort meetings
-Disseminating information to leadership
-Supporting other teachers
-Participating in Beginning Educator Professional Learning Network (BE-PLN)
-Participating in the DTOY selection process
-Use social media to share work
-Participating in the Senior Pinning Ceremony (PHS seniors going into the field of education or entering a career in education)
-Contacting local sponsors and community partners to donate to the Educators Recognition Program

The 2022-2023 Support Professional of the Year nominee should be someone who:
- works in the best interest of students and/or the district
- is warm and friendly to all
- has an exceptional level of competence in performing work tasks
- actively seeks ways to improve knowledge/skills
- goes above and beyond the stated job description
