The following policies are separate and apart from the grievance procedures set forth in any Collective Bargaining Agreement and are meant to address concerns that do not meet the criteria of a violation of any Article of a CBA. For concerns that are believed to be violations of a CBA, please refer to the relevant CBA Grievance Procedures.

Problems, misunderstandings and frustrations may arise in the workplace from time to time. It is the Portsmouth School Department's intent to be responsive to its employees and their concerns. Therefore, any employee who is confronted with a problem or concern may use the applicable policies and grievance procedures below, as amended from time to time, to resolve or clarify their concerns. The HR Department is always available to assist with questions about application of policy and to help clarify policy and procedure.
