Congratulations to PHS high school senior CTE Art student, Lisa Powledge for winning this year's "Photo/Digital Art Media Scholarship Award" for the state of RI"!
Four of her AP PhotoArt Self Portraits works were chosen by the jurer's and won this year's category for "Photo/Digital Media". Along with receiving the Wickford Art Associations' Art Scholarship, Lisa will also be exhibiting her winning artworks @ the Wickford Art Gallery, and showing a huge body of her work during the 59th Wickford Art Festival on July 9th & 10th!
An award reception was held Tuesday evening at the Wickford Art Association's gallery, 36 Beach Street, North Kingstown Rhode Island. Lisa was honored along with her Art teacher Rose Marie Escobar.
The other three winning school districts were North Kingstown in Painting, Lincoln in Mixed Media, and South Kingstown in Drawing.
This annual scholarship exhibition competition is offered and sponsored by Wickford Art's & the Rhode Island Arts Education Association. Art teachers entered students' work into four different categories, and one winner per category was chosen from around the state.
