Grade 6 is considered the time that students have reached upper elementary age at Portsmouth Middle School.  This is their last year on the upper elementary side of the school.  Students begin to transition to three teachers on a team (where there were two in 5th grade).  Each teacher specializes in ELA, math, or science and shares teaching social studies.

We encourage you to focus on your child’s growth, not just the grades. Learning is a journey, and each child develops at their own pace. Praise their efforts and help them set goals for the next grading period.
