Summer Meals Distribution

June 17, 2020

Dear Members of the Portsmouth Schools Community,

As we are getting ready to wrap up the 2019-20 school year, I want to thank everyone in the PSD community for coming together during what has truly been an unpredictable time for all.  I hope everyone has the opportunity to find ways to relax and unwind this summer. If you are returning for the 2020-21 school year, please be sure to be on the lookout for periodic updates on our reopening plans. Our Steering Committee and subcommittees will be meeting over the next few weeks to put together our plan for submission to the RI Department of Education which will be due in July.

Free breakfast and lunch distribution for all students under the age of 18 will continue throughout the summer but will transition to regional distribution. The nearest regional distribution will be at various locations in Newport. Please see the attached flyer for more information. The program will continue to be available to any RI student under the age of 18, no questions asked. Also attached is a flyer from the East Bay Food Pantry which will remain open through the summer.

Best wishes to all PSD families!
