  • District Learning Days Update

    April 3rd and 17th - Teacher planning days; no distance learning expectations for students

    April 9th and 10th - Good Friday/Easter Recess; no distance learning expectations for students or teachers

    April 6th-30th - Distance learning will continue for all RI districts (In Portsmouth we have extended the close of our 3rd Quarter marking period to April 21st)


    Wireless Hotspot Update

    Verizon, AT&T, TMobile, and Sprint have all agreed to enable the hotspot feature on all smartphones at no cost. This is being done to facilitate internet connectivity to those who do not have it. If you have internet service you are asked to not enable this feature on your smartphone as there is concern about the capacity of these systems.

    Attendance Plan for Students

    Please be sure to access your homeroom teacher's Google Classroom page daily between 9:00am - 9:15am. Once there, please join the homeroom hangout in order that we may properly track daily attendance. In addition, there is a Google Form that is to be filled out every morning by 9:30am.  Students will be able to access this form in their homeroom teacher's Google Classroom.  Thank you for your cooperation with this! 

    Distance Learning Assignments for Students

    Going forward with Distance Learning (April 6 - April 30):  Depending on grade/learning center, students will either receive a weekly playlist (the document that specifies assignments that need to be completed, resources that need to be used, and supplemental materials that will support learning) AND/OR will have their assignments posted directly into their Google Classrooms. Unified Arts Teachers will put assigments into their Google Classrooms.

    Grade 5 - B4 & B3--Weekly Playlist in Homeroom Teacher's Google Classroom

    Grade 6 - A2--Weekly Playlist & Assignments in Google Classrooms

                   A3--Assignments in Google Classrooms

    Grade 7- C1 & C2--Weekly Playlist

    Grade 8- D1 & D2--Weekly Playlist

    Please contact your child’s homeroom teacher if you have any difficulties with the process. 

     Grab and Go Breakfast and Lunches

    The Portsmouth School Department is offering free "Grab and Go" breakfast & lunch in the main foyer of Portsmouth Middle School: Monday-Friday, 9:00am-10:30am. Anyone aged 18 or under will receive a free meal. There are no ID or residency requirements.
